It was that time of the year again, The CFDA Awards are arguably the biggest night in the fashion world. The gala took place Monday night's in New York City, Janelle Monáe delivered a blockbuster five-minute speech rivaling anything heard at the Oscars. The evening's red carpet was filled with fascinating silhouettes, style statements and some seriously gorgeous gowns. There were colors that dominated and beauty looks that took our breath away
Of course, since the event is so huge—and so stylish—we’ve narrowed down our favorite looks that lit up the Hammerstein Ballroom. Trust us: These are the looks everyone will be talking about all day (probably until next year’s awards, too).
Because while there are always style hits, there are also a few misses. On this particular carpet, for example, Gigi Hadid was drowning in too much fabric and Amanda Peet's dress was far from flattering. Truth be told, it's not easy to be a trendsetter. Fashion is all about breaking the rules, but not ignoring them—tricky, right? On one hand, you're expected to standout, yet on the other hand, go too far and you can end up here, on the "Worst Dressed" list. It comes with the territory.
